We are currently seeking a full-time Field Service Manager to lead a team of service engineers and local service channels, ensuring delivery of world-class service to Data I/O customers throughout Asia. This position is located in our Shanghai office.   Responsibilities
    
·       Lead the Asia service organization, including evaluating service capabilities/resources and determining how to most effectively utilize them.
    
·       Lead and support Data I/O service team members and channels in resolution of customer issues.
    
·       Manage, train and develop Asia service channels in order to improve performance. 
    
·       Ensure communication between Asia and other locations is efficient and effective in problem resolution. 
    
·       Participate in developing worldwide service priorities & strategies to improve service in Asia and the rest of the world as a member of service leadership team.
    
·       Represent Data I/O before senior executives of customers and distributors.
    
·       Help to prepare service to be ready for new market areas.
·        Utilize Data I/O customer portals and existing tools to support customers, channels and partners, while helping to identify and implement use of new technologies to increase the efficiency of the service organization and help customers self-serve.
·        Support the Asia service team by also conducting onsite installation of equipment, performing procedures in troubleshooting and providing onsite customer training in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities, when needed.
·        Provide feedback to customers following service visits, in the form of technical reports that may also be shared with Engineering, Manufacturing or other departments in order to identify and solve issues in the field as well as drive quality improvements.
·        Support other functional areas such as sales and marketing by presenting Data I/O programming systems during customer demos or shows.
·        Support sales by lending technical knowledge that can be shared with the customer or used in making sales decisions.
·        Act as eyes and ears in the field, raising important customer issues or observations up to senior leaders when necessary
Requirements:
·        Strong knowledge of electronic/electrical circuits
·        Minimum 7-10 years relevant experience in electronic/mechanical industry, to include working with highly integrated mechanical/software products (SMT or ATE equipment).
·        Experience working for an international company in a leadership role.
·        Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting technical issues, including methodology, organization and planning.
·        Ability to travel (at times on short notice) within the APAC region and occasionally to Europe or to the U.S.
·        Highly self-motivated team player with strong written and verbal communication skills in both local and English languages.
·        Ability and eagerness to learn and understand the industry in order to help in recognizing potential business opportunities.
·        A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field
·        Experience with device programmers (robotics or pick and place machines), a plus.
